Bloggers! I’m sure many of you out there do not know that I serve as TOC’s Secretary and Chair of the Owner Relations Committee. I just thought I’d stop by to fill you in on some of the exciting stuff we’re working on.

The TOC Owner Relations Committee is working furiously to provide thoroughbred owners in California the best racing experience possible. Two big projects we’re currently working on are a new layout for the TOC Website, and a brand new “Owners Packet” for every owner in California.

If you’ve been to the TOC website, you’ll probably agree that it’s time for an overhaul. We’re currently in the design process, and will soon be moving into editing and updating content. We hope the new look is more visually pleasing, and the content more organized.

Our most important project, however, is the new Owners Packet we are trying to have ready by the start of the Santa Anita meet in December of 2009. In this packet, we hope to include a parking sticker, credential and VIP pin for all owners to use at ALL California tracks. It is our hope that owners will no longer have to get these items for every individual track. One credential will get you into any track in California, including the Fairs! In addition, the packet will include names and contact numbers for the Owners’ Relations coordinator at each track. On race day, there is no reason an owner should not be afforded seating in a prime location to watch their horse run.

Welcome to the new TOC Blog. This is your chance to interact with your TOC Board of Directors and staff. Every 4 to 6 weeks a new director or staff person will take over the TOC blog. Upcoming TOC Seminar

TOC is hosting a FREE Seminar May 9th at the Hinds Pavilion at Barretts in Pomona, CA!

The event will start promptly at 9:00AM. Attendees should meet at the front entrance of the Sales Pavilion to register and enjoy a complimentary continental breakfast.

Topics will include pedigree information and research tools, working with a consignor, basic conformation considerations, and much more!
